The holiday crowds are officially long gone in Disney World, and the only crowds you really have to worry about now are those at the EPCOT Festival of the Arts (although the day-one crowds are usually the worst).

So you might think that February is a great time to visit Disney World. However, there are two events coming up on two February weekends that could bring crowds to the parks…and your hotel. Two cheerleading competitions will be bringing TONS of people to the parks on January 31st through February 2nd and on February 7th through 10th.
The first cheerleading competition isn’t happening at Disney World, but it’s still a big one coming to Orlando. The All Out Grand Nationals will be held from January 31st through February 2nd. This competition will be held at the Orange County Convention Center. It’s likely that a lot of folks will also use the opportunity to visit Orlando for the competition to visit Disney World (the cheerleaders and their families can get discounted tickets). So you might see an uptick in people in the parks that weekend and just before and after it.

The UCA National High School Cheerleading Competition is coming to Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports on February 7th through 10th. As this competition is happening at Disney World, cheer teams will be seen at Disney World hotels (usually value resorts). In fact, if you’re staying during that time, you may see them rehearsing in the hotel’s courtyards. However, this means that both your hotel and Disney World could be extra crowded during that time.

If you will be visiting Disney World on those weekends, be sure to bring a little extra patience. You might also want to take advantage of Mobile Order at counter service restaurants that offer it, as well as take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel.
