Is Disney Channel Shutting Down? We’re Here To Set the Record Straight.

For so many people, some of our fondest memories come from watching the Disney Channel as kids.

In fact, we might argue that some of Disney’s best TV shows and movies aired on the Disney Channel and that, yes, it’s an important part of our childhood. It’s so important that Disneyland hosted a Disney Channel Nite in the theme park, and it was epic. So, here’s the thing: there are some rumors that say that the beloved Disney Channel is going away, so we’re here to set the record straight.

The Internet is notorious for starting rumors, and one rumor we’ve seen being spread is that Disney Channel is going away forever. The initial rumor began in 2022 when Reuters, along with other news sources, reported that the Disney Channel would be replaced by another children’s channel in Russia. However, this was ONLY happening in Russia.

After that, the Internet ran with wild rumors that the Disney Channel would be shutting down everywhere else, too, including the U.S. Those rumors recently resurfaced after reports surfaced that Disney Channel would shut down in other countries, including Italy and Australia, while Disney XD is shutting down in other international markets.

Of course, many might believe that the Disney Channel will end soon in the U.S., especially considering the success of Disney+. However, Disney has not announced any removal of the Disney Channel in North America. Of course, the rumors are still running rampant across social media and the Internet, but it’s basically a big misunderstanding concerning WHERE Disney Channel is being discontinued.

That begs the question, though: will Disney Channel ever end everywhere, including in the U.S.? Well, it’s no secret that Disney+ has continued to grow its audience and features much of the same kid’s programming as the Disney Channel. But until Disney announces plans to discontinue Disney Channel, we’ll be ignoring the rumors.
