It’s inevitable and it will happen at least once during your Disney World trip.

We’re talking about rain. It will rain at some point during your trip. Florida rainstorms can pop up at any time, even if the forecast predicts nothing but sunshine. That means you need to be prepared EVERY SINGLE DAY for wet weather, which means you’ll probably be keeping a poncho handy in your day bag, just in case. However, there are some problems we’ve faced when wearing a poncho in Disney World.

Here are two big problems with wearing a poncho in Disney World.
You have to take it off for rides
So if you are wearing a poncho and need to get on a ride, most of the time Cast Members will tell you to take it off, which is just a hassle, especially if you have to put it on after you get off the ride. This is particularly true for some indoor rides when you just need to get out of the wet poncho.

Sure, you could leave it on, but then you’re sitting inside a wet poncho and you’re potentially getting the ride vehicle wet, too, which isn’t great for the NEXT person to sit there. So, yeah, you’ll need to take it off.

That means you’ll need to store it in that little pouch that some rides have, and if you put other stuff in there, it’s going to get that other stuff wet, too. It’s a small hassle, but a hassle nonetheless.
It will get your park bag all wet
Speaking of storing your poncho, once the rain is over, you’ll want to take it off and store it away. If you put it in your park bag, though, it’s going to get all your stuff inside your park bag wet.

HOWEVER, we have a solution for that. We have a tried and true poncho that we LOVE, mostly because it comes with its own little pouch to store it in. Keep that pouch in your bag when you’re wearing the poncho and then put your poncho inside that pouch when the rain stops. You can pop that pouch into your bag and not worry about getting your stuff wet!

Another thing we love about this poncho is that it gives us plenty of room to wear our bag underneath it, too, basically solving ALL our problems!
So the next time you visit Disney World, re-think the poncho you bring with you! It will make ALL the difference on a rainy day.
