It’s time for us to have a little chat about the restaurants at Disney World.

This time we’re not talking about which restaurant has the best appetizers, entrees, or desserts. No, we’re actually curious about the best Disney World restaurant hacks possible. We wanted to find out your thoughts on the matter. Well, we asked, and you delivered!
We reached out to our followers on Facebook and Instagram to ask: “What is your BEST Disney World restaurant HACK?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!

Now, let’s go over some of your top responses!
Tambu Lounge
First up, let’s talk about ‘Ohana. We all know it’s a must-do for all the amazing food and character interactions. But let’s be real. All of that comes with a hefty price tag.

But here’s where you come in. AE reader Julie shared, “Go to Tambu Lounge and order the ‘Ohana wings, noodles, and bread pudding there for a fraction of the price of the full meal. You can also get the shrimp and potstickers as well.”

AE reader Dave echoed the sentiment with, “Skip ‘Ohana and find all their best dishes (pot stickers, ribs, wings, and bread pudding) at Tambu Lounge.”

So, basically, you can get all the deliciousness of ‘Ohana without the large price tag or challenge of trying to get a dining reservation. Count us in!
Any Bar/Lounge
Alright, cocktail lovers. This one’s for you. Brian, an adventurous AE reader shared, “If you’re feeling adventurous, and you have a good bartender, ask them to pour you vacation and see what they come up with. I’ve had some great drinks that I’ve never heard of by asking a bartender to simply Pour Me a Vacation.”

Now this is a hack that’s perfect for those days when you’re feeling spontaneous or just can’t decide which drink to choose. Plus, what a fun way to chat with bartenders and maybe even discover your new favorite drink!
Kids Meals and Split Meals
Let’s face it, sometimes you just don’t need a mountain of food. Enter the kid’s meal hack! AE reader Kim knows what’s up when she shared, “Order the kids meal if you are able to. We did this a few times. It was enough food , didn’t feel stuffed and it was very hot so we didn’t feel blah!”

Speaking of portion sizes, AE reader Elaine shared, “Split plates. Portions are big. Hubby and I do this all the time. Only place you can’t do this is a prefix meal or buffet.”

This hack is so helpful as it allows you to try more things on the menu without feeling like you need to be rolled out of the restaurant.
Cancellations
It’s definitely true that sometimes finding dinnig reservations can be stressful. We’ve all been there before where we’re staring at the “no availability” message in the My Disney Experience app. But fear not because we’ve got hacks from you!

First up, AE reader Paula shared, “Check for cancellations and put your name on waiting list between lunch and dinner. Also leave the parks and hit the resorts.”

AE reader Sara echoed Paula by sharing, “Make reservations same day because of the 2 hour cancellation policy. People hog reservations 60 days out as I’m in queue I look for places to eat same day.”

These hacks are gold especially if you love spontaneity or just didn’t manage to snag a reservation beforehand.
California Grill
Last up, you shared what has to be one of the best “hidden secrets” for fireworks lovers. Mason, another AE reader, shared this tip: “Get a receipt for California Grill and come back up later that night to watch the fireworks!”

Can you imagine enjoying a meal at California Grill and then heading back later for a prime view of the fireworks without having to fight the crowds? It’s like having your cake and eating it too!
