Disney’s Encanto is a sensation! The movie has secured Oscar nominations, the 100 Million Streams on Spotify, and is being rereleased in theaters. Encanto is everywhere, and we’re not mad about it! And, if Lin-Manuel Miranda gets its way, we could one day see the movie represented in the Disney Parks!

Lin-Manuel Miranda, Encanto‘s songwriter, said in an interview with The Wrap that he had pitched an Encanto attraction to Disney CEO, Bob Chapek. While nothing is currently in the works for any follow-up to the hit film, Chapek referred to Encanto as the company’s “new animated franchise.”

The reporter pitched a Colombia pavilion in EPCOT, but Miranda was thinking of something closer to Disneyland’s The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure.

Miranda said, “I know there’s a world in which this casita lives in a theme park and we get to actually walk through it in real life,” and later said, “It’s like, I want to go in and out of this casita and see those characters and see the house respond because that’s something Disney can do that no one else can do.”
