Avatar was the biggest movie…of 2009. So why did Disney invest $500 million in a land based on Avatar in 2017?

Some say Pandora was meant as direct competition with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal. Others claim Disney was promised a series of sequels which they have yet to see go into production. We say, Disney World Did Something Weird Again.
