Disney recently announced significant layoffs coming that will affect thousands of its Parks, Experiences and Products Cast Members.
We’ve slowly started to see more details about these layoffs and what Cast Members will be affected. We’ve now received an update about what Cast Members in California will be affected.
According to the Orange County Register, “Disney announced 2,765 non-union layoffs in California…as part of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, known as the WARN Act.” In the WARN Act notifications Disney filed today, mostly affecting employees in Anaheim, Disney has specifically noted that 2,050 employees of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts will be affected by these layoffs, including 129 employees who work for Disney Entertainment Productions, 95 who work at Disney Destinations, and 74 who work at Walt Disney Travel Co.
Additionally, the WARN act filings include 411 layoffs which will affect employees at Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale.
