Is Up: A Great Bird Adventure Flying Away for a Bit? Check Out Why We Think So.

Have you seen Up: A Great Bird Adventure at Disney’s Animal Kingdom?

Up: A Great Bird Adventure

The new show premiered just last year, replacing Flights of Wonder. But is it already flying away?

We think so — but only for a few weeks! (At least initially.)

Up: A Great Bird Adventure

According to My Disney Experience, there are no showtimes for Up: A Great Bird Adventure starting September 8 through September 21.

Starting September 22, the website shows five times daily for a week… and then is blank again for the rest of the year.

Up: A Great Bird Adventure

Has Disney just not decided on the showtimes yet? Is the theater going under refurbishment? Are the birds going on a family vacation together? Will Russell and Dug take over the Finding Nemo show during the downtime?

Only time will tell — but don’t get your feathers ruffled. We will keep you posted!

  1. Flights of Wonder was excellent. Entertaining, funny, and a better showcase for the birds. Up is a big dud.

  2. Flights of Wonder really only needed just a little bit of refreshing. It was a wonderful experience and I was in tears every time the brought out the beautiful eagle. Now it’s been ruined in order to “leverage Disney’s intellectual properties.” I loved “UP” but why cheapen this beautiful show with people in ugly costumes awkwardly interacting with the CM show host? Ugh.

    1. I agree completely. Flights of Wonder was always an enjoyable show but Up was painful to sit through. Much less time spent showing the birds. Why not have a bird show that just shows off the birds and not all the filler?
