NEWS: Disney’s New Spider-Man Roller Coaster Hits Huge Milestone

Shanghai Disney just released some HUGE news about one of their new upcoming attractions, and we couldn’t be more stoked!

A new Spider-Man-themed land is in the works at Shanghai Disney, and we’ve known for a hot second now that it will feature a new high-speed coaster starring the web slinger himself. They’ve just reached a massive milestone — the final piece of track for the coaster has just been installed!

On their Instagram, Shanghai Disney released the news that the final piece of track has officially been installed. This means that testing for the ride could potentially start soon, which puts us another step closer to guests being allowed to experience it for the first time.

From what we can see of the coaster so far, it certainly looks big and exciting — just look at all those twists and turns! The track is red, to match Spider-Man’s suit, of course, and we love the attention to detail.

This new coaster, and the Spider-Man land itself, were first announced at the D23 Expo in August 2024. This is Shanghai Disney’s first Marvel attraction ever, and it’ll be a high-energy thrill coaster that takes you on a “high-speed, fully immersive experience” Then, in May 2025, Imagineers broke ground on the new land. To break land and have a coaster be pretty much complete in terms of the building process just about a year later is pretty impressive!
