Things are about to get even more cold and wintry out there, and that could cause you problems if you’re headed to Disney World in the next few days, particularly if you’re flying.

That’s because winter weather is set to impact multiple states in the Midwest and South, which will impact flights. You can expect snow and ice to delay and ground planes over the next few days, at least according to the latest weather reports. This will also impact flights to and from Orlando International Airport.
According to Weather.com, Winter Storm Cora will spread across the South and Midwest this weekend and will carve a snowy and icy path that will stretch from Texas and Oklahoma to Virginia and North Carolina. This will cause dangerous travel conditions, as well as delays and closures. Lighter snow is also expected in the Ohio Valley, Great Lakes, mid-Atlantic, and Northeast.
Numerous winter weather alerts have already been issued from the Southern Plans to the Southeast, including Atlanta, Birmingham, Charlotte, Dallas-Fort Worth, Little Rock, Memphis, Nashville, and Raleigh.

Everything from snow to sleet to freezing rain is expected in these areas, which could make travel dangerous. This storm will also affect multiple airports across the U.S., meaning that air travel over the next few days might be disrupted. A lot of major airports are in the path of the storm, meaning that operations could be delayed or even shut down in those areas, which will result in flight delays across the country.
If you are flying over the next few days, you’ll want to stay weather aware. Also, make sure you have set up a way to get notifications from your airline either via phone, text message, or via the airline’s app.

You’ll also want to keep an eye on the weather in Orlando. According to WESH, temperatures in Central Florida are being affected by an arctic blast that is expected to last several days. Overnight, much of Central Florida was under freeze and frost warnings. Thursday’s forecast is sunny, but the highest temperatures will only reach into the 50s. So if you’re visiting Disney World this weekend, bring some winter gear: Florida’s humidity can make it seem ever colder for those not used to it.
The temperatures will reach back the low 70s on Friday, but then drop again with highs only in the 60s. Mornings will also be chilly, so be sure to dress in layers for a day in the parks.
