2025 is right around the corner, and that means it’s time to start planning your 2025 Disneyland trip!

While there’s no bad time to visit Disneyland in our eyes, it’s magical all year round, if you’re focused on avoiding crowds or that’s very important to you, then there ARE times you’ll want to avoid the parks. If that sounds like the trip you’re trying to plan, then these are the dates you’ll want to stay away from Disneyland in 2025!
January
In January, there are TWO different dates you’ll want to watch out for. The first is, of course, New Year’s Day. Lots of people want to spend the first day of the new year having tons of fun in the parks to start the year off on the right foot, so this day will likely be VERY crowded.

You’ll also want to avoid Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend, which is January 18th-20th, 2025. Since this is a long weekend with cooler weather, many families may choose to spend it in the parks. It won’t be as busy as other times, but is still something to watch out for!
May
The next time we suggest avoiding doesn’t happen until May, and that’s because of Memorial Day Weekend that happens May 24th-26th, 2025.

Again, it’s not as busy as other major holidays, but many families will choose to spend the long weekend hanging out in the parks and getting extra excited for the fact that summer break is coming soon!
July
A huge holiday hits in July, and that’s Independence Day, the 4th of July, of course!

While this day will likely be the busiest of the week, you’ll want to watch out for crowds the surrounding days as well, especially because kids will be out of school and it’ll be easier for families to travel for vacations.
August/September
Another three day weekend hits in August thanks to Labor Day Weekend, which lands August 30th-September 1st, 2025.

Many kids are back in school by this time, so many parents will choose to take this long weekend to hop to Disneyland for a mini break, since for many, their next one won’t come until Thanksgiving break. And immediately after that, you’ll want to watch out for the Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend that takes place September 4th-7th.

runDisney races often attract MASSIVE crowds, so this is one of the times of year you’ll really want to focus on avoiding.
October
In October, the main event you’ll want to watch out for is Halloween on October 31st! Now, the whole season will be busier than other times of the year, but often Halloween is a very popular date to be in the parks.

But that’s not ALL in October, because the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend also begins on October 31st and goes through November 3rd! Just like mentioned previously, runDisney races are often very hectic, so crowds will be large!
November
Other than the race, you’ll want to watch out for Thanksgiving Week. In 2025, we’re counting this as Sunday, November 23rd through Saturday, November 29th.

Again, kids are out of school and some families choose to travel for Thanksgiving instead of the December holidays, so crowds around this time can be pretty intense!
December
In December, it’ll surprise no returning visitors to Disneyland that we say both Christmas Eve (December 24th) AND Christmas Day (December 25th) are wild days to visit Disneyland.

Can they be supremely magical? Absolutely! But those crowds can be shoulder to shoulder in many areas, so if you’re looking to avoid the crowds, we suggest avoiding this time. However, you’ll also want to watch out for New Year’s Eve on December 31st.

Just like how many people want to spend the first day of the year in Disneyland, lots of people ALSO want to spend the LAST day of the year in the park as well!
