More bad weather could be on the horizon for Florida soon.

We try to help you prepare for bad weather of all types when planning your trip to Disney World, however, sometimes that weather is truly unpredictable. Within the past few months, Florida has been hit with multiple storms — Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene — leaving parts of Florida in devastation. Now, there’s another weather system forming that seems to have everyone watching extra closely to see what it does next.
The latest storm to be brewing at sea seems to have picked up a bit more steam as of late. The National Hurricane Center has been closely monitoring a storm they’re calling Invest 99-L, a “broad area of low pressure over the central Caribbean Sea” that “continues to produce a large area of showers and thunderstorms.”

The alert goes on to detail that conditions are aligned with this storm enough that we could see it form into a tropical depression within the coming days as the system is projected to slowly move westward. This is one of several areas of interest that the NHC has been recently tracking, however, this particular one seems to be in a position where it could intensify soon.

In addition to continuing to strengthen, the NHC is also anticipating the storm to head northwest by early next week. Local Orlando news station, WESH, also echoed the latest update from the NHC adding that there’s a 90% chance of development in the next 48 hours along with a 90% chance of developing further over the next week.

Should the pressure system develop further, the storm would be upgraded into a named storm, Sara. If this storm continues to develop beyond its expected tropical depression and continues to stay on meteorologists’ projected paths, it could mean that we could feel its effects in Florida soon along the Gulf Coast. It’s important to keep an eye on this one and how it changes especially if you’re planning to travel through Florida over the next coming days.
We’re always on the lookout for anything that could affect your next Disney World trip, be sure to stay tuned with us as we continue to monitor this storm and bring you the latest Disney news!
