You know what they say! Everything’s bigger in Texas. At the rate we’re going, Texas’s entertainment and theme park industry is going to be larger than life!

We recently learned of a Peppa Pig theme park that would be coming to Texas, and today we found out some news about Texas’s Universal theme park proposal that we heard about in February. The proposal stated that the theme park would cover 94 acres and include rides, shows, and hotels.
The proposal for a Universal theme park to arrive in Texas has been APPROVED. The Frisco City Council and the Texas Planning & Zoning Commission approved a 97-acre zoning proposal that would make way for the park.

According to NBC 5, the theme park will be located off the Dallas North Tollway and Panther Creek Parkway, where a large, vacant field is available. However, the park would be just a few streets away from several residences.

Concerned residents have voiced their opinion on the matter at numerous public meetings regarding the arrival of the theme park and the noise and crowds it would bring.

However, according to the city of Dallas, the “theme park is expected to welcome 7,000 visitors on weekdays [and 14,000 on weekends] vs. 28,000 weekday visitors at high-rise buildings, restaurants, and retail space.” The city argued that a local grocery store and mall experience more weekday visitors than Universal expects.

Construction is planned to begin in late 2023 in order for the park to open in 2026.
