3 Outdated Disney World “Must-Haves” You Need To AVOID

Let’s face it…things have changed a LOT in Disney World, so something you might have needed a decade ago isn’t necessarily something you need now. What was once a Disney must-have might not necessarily be a Disney must- have now.

Yes, it’s hard to keep track of what you do and don’t need. That’s why we’re going to tell you about those must-haves that you might need to rethink and suggest what you should get instead.

Autograph Book

We get it…it’s fun to get all the characters to sign your Autograph Book, and we have always told you to buy it BEFORE your trip to save some $$$.

This is one of our favorites, after all, and it even comes with a pen.

However, there are other, more original ways to get characters’ autographs. For example, we bought this White Owala Water Bottle and took it all over Disney World to get our favorite characters to sign it.

A water bottle like this Owala one can be a fun keepsake!

Not only does this give you a unique water bottle, but it’s a souvenir you can use over and over.

Another of our favorite things to get signed is this 14 x 14 Signature Frame. Sure, it says it’s for weddings, but it’s also great for taking to the parks to get autographs.

Character Frame Signatures

Just take the mat out of the frame, take it to the parks, and get your favorite characters to sign it. Then you can put your favorite Disney photo in the middle, and you’ve got a VERY cool souvenir.

You could also get a fun book signed by your favorite characters, like this Everything I Need to Know I Learned From a Disney Golden Book. Just take this book to the parks and get the characters to sign it.

The key is to think outside the box. As long as characters can easily autograph something, they will!

Staying Cool

Okay, so we know we recommend these Cooling Towels often to help you stay cool when it’s hot and humid in the parks (and that’s almost ALL the time).

We even like that these come in a 4-pack, which should be enough towels for everyone.

However, another great option is this Handheld Portable Mini Fan, which you can use to blow air around your face while you’re standing in line or walking around.

We love how handy this little fan is, too. It’s not only a fan, but it can also work as a portable charger for your phone!

Don’t want to hold a fan in front of your face all day? Then get the Portable Neck Fan that you can just place around your neck for all-day cooling. We’ve even tested this one out and can tell you that it works great.

The fan has five speeds and has easy-to-use one-button control.

Ponchos

At the first sign of rain, Cast Members will roll out the Mickey ponchos so Disney can get your hard-earned money by promising to keep you dry. But those ponchos don’t come cheaply.

Mickey ponchos

Sure, the Mickey ponchos are cute, but they’re pricey.

Instead, go ahead and order the Frogg Toggs Ultralite Poncho online because it’s everything you need in a poncho and more. It will keep you dry. It’s lightweight, so you don’t feel super hot in it.

JP loves her FROGG TOGGS Poncho!

This poncho also comes in its own little carrying pouch, so it’s easy to keep stowed away when you’re not using it.
