Your feet can make or break your EPCOT day faster than a long World Showcase loop in the afternoon heat.

EPCOT is one of those parks that looks calm and manageable until you check your step count halfway through the day. Between World Discovery attractions, festival booths, and walking country to country, your shoes matter way more than you might think. Before you step through those park gates, these are the shoe rules we want every EPCOT visitor to know.
Don’t Wear Heelys (and Be Careful With Crocs too!)
Let’s start with the one that might seriously surprise you. Heelys are banned at Walt Disney World, including EPCOT. That means no rolling shoes of any kind, even if your kid promises they will not use the wheels.

Crocs are a little more complicated. You can absolutely wear Crocs inside EPCOT, and plenty of guests do. However, Crocs are technically banned on Disney escalators. You are encouraged to take the stairs instead if you are wearing them. While many guests ignore this rule, it does exist, and Cast Members can enforce it.

We have personally seen Crocs get stuck on Disney escalators more than once, which is not a magical way to start your day. If you are committed to wearing them, just plan to use stairs or elevators whenever possible.
Avoid Shoes You Can’t Walk Several Miles In
EPCOT is massive, and there is no way around the walking. Flip flops, flimsy sandals, and anything with zero structure might feel fine at home, but they rarely hold up for a full park day.

Even if you think you are used to walking with them, EPCOT hits differently. You are stopping, starting, standing in lines, and navigating crowds all day. Shoes that rub, slide, or lack cushioning will catch up to you fast. If you can’t comfortably walk several miles in a pair of shoes at home, they’re probably not EPCOT shoes.
Pick Shoes With Actual Support
Support matters more than style here. Running shoes or well-made walking sneakers are usually your safest bet. Look for shoes with good arch support, cushioning, and a stable sole.

This is really important, especially if you plan to spend a lot of time in World Showcase, since those long stretches between pavilions can wear you down. The right shoes help prevent sore feet, knee pain, and that end-of-day limp we all want to avoid.
Break In Your Shoes Before Your Trip
The reality is that brand-new shoes and EPCOT don’t mix. Even the most comfortable sneakers can cause blisters if they are not broken in first.

You’ll probably want to wear your park shoes on errands, walks, or around the house before your trip. You want to know exactly how they feel after a few hours, not find out halfway between Germany and Italy.
Bring a Backup Pair
If you’re visiting EPCOT multiple days in a row or if you’re doing a longer Disney trip, the best thing to do is bring at least one backup pair of shoes. We find that rotating shoes gives your feet a break and can help prevent a lot of pain and blisters.

It’s also a lifesaver if your shoes get soaked in the rain, which happens more often than you might imagine in Florida. Dry shoes can completely change your mood the next morning.
Pack Blister Prevention and Good Socks
Even with the best shoes, blisters can still happen. Bring Band Aids, moleskin, or blister pads in your park bag so you are prepared.

Also, do not underestimate the power of good socks either. Moisture-wicking socks with a little padding can make a huge difference, especially on hot days when your feet are more likely to rub.

So, with all of those shoe rules in mind, you might be wondering what we actually recommend wearing to EPCOT. After plenty of trial and error, miles of walking, these are some of our top picks for park days.
At the very top of our list are the HOKA Clifton 10s.

We love how supportive the Clifton 10s are, and they come in tons of colors and styles. Yes, they can be pricey, but we’ve found them to be absolutely worth it.
Next up, we’ve got the Brooks Women’s Ghost 17 Neutral Running Shoes.

These are supportive, comfortable, and built to last, which makes them a great choice for frequent EPCOT trips. If HOKAs do not quite work for your feet, Brooks are often a fantastic alternative!
If you want something much more budget-friendly but still comfortable, you’ll want to check out the Avia Women’s Athletic Jumbo Lite Runner Sneakers!

Walmart sells these for around $30, and honestly, they punch way above their price point. They feel sturdy, supportive, and comfortable for long park days.
Next, we’ve got the Ryka Women’s Devotion X Walking Shoes.

They come in a TON of colors and are designed specifically for walking, which makes them a solid EPCOT option.
For those who prefer sandals, you can’t go wrong with a good pair of Tevas!

They’re comfortable, supportive, and great for rainy days. Just be sure to break them in and avoid tightening the straps too much to prevent rubbing.
These Chacos are another sandal option you’ll want to consider.

They’re durable, adjustable, supportive, and have plenty of color choices to match your style.
These OOFOS OOahh Recovery Slides are perfect for after a long day at EPCOT when you’re walking around your hotel.

They’re soft, comfortable, and dry quickly, which makes them a solid choice for after long EPCOT days.
When it comes to EPCOT, the right shoes can completely change your experience. Pick wisely, take care of your feet, and future you will be very grateful.
