Hurricane Milton is on its way to Florida, currently at a Category 5 status.

The storm is heading towards Florida’s west coast, but due to its size and strength, it will impact Central Florida as well. Now, Orange County and Osceola County, which both house Disney World, are under a Hurricane Warning.
A Hurricane Warning is issued when hurricane-force winds are expected within the area in 36 hours. This warning lasts from now until October 8th, 2024 at 1:15AM. The potential wind speeds are 74mph to 110 mph and damage to property and flooding are possible during this time.
UPDATE: The Hurricane Warning is now in effect until 6PM ET on October 8th.

Although the Hurricane Warning is set to end in the middle of the night, the Hurricane is not expected to hit Florida until late Wednesday, October 9th. Experts predict the hurricane will make landfall as a Category 3 storm.
Several AllEars team members located in Florida received an alert on their phones. It encouraged residents to prepare for the storm with enough supplies for three or more days including food, water, cash, fuel, and medications.

We highly recommend preparing for more bad weather if you are visiting Disney World this week. Disney World has started preparations of its own by pausing new hotel bookings and updating its hotel cancelation policy ahead of the storm.
