Universal Pokes Fun at Disney’s Super Bowl Commercial

Who else loves watching the Super Bowl for the ads?

One of our favorite ads from the February 11th game was (of course) a Disney+ ad. It was pretty minimalistic — showcasing a white screen with black serif typeface. The ad highlighted fan-favorite Disney quotes and phrases, but at the end, the screen went black and featured white typeface that said, “…Ready  for It?” While this ad was probably to highlight the forthcoming Eras Tour Concert Film to the streaming platform, a lot of Taylor Swift fans were hoping it was a hint that the rerecording of Taylor’s “Reputation” album would come soon. “…Ready for It” is a song from “Reputation.” Universal, however, took the feature/hint as something else entirely: an opportunity to poke fun!

Universal Orlando has a track record of hilariously witty Tweets, a lot of which are poking fun at Disney.

We saw this when Disney shared their new “Good-to-Go days” system for Annual Passholders, and we’re now seeing it again post-Super Bowl.

Are you a Passholder?

Universal shared their all-new Epic Universe logo in a Tweet with the caption, “…Ready for It?”

What makes this particularly funny (or spicy) is that Disney fans have shared that they may or may not be doing away with their Annual Pass at Disney World once Epic Universe opens.
