Why Today Is a HUGE Day for Disney Fans

Get ready for a true Disney challenge.

Disneyland

You might think you’re an expert because you know about the hidden bathrooms in the parks, secrets within EPCOT, or even hidden Mickeys you can find in different places. But do YOU know why July 17th is of critical importance to the Disney Company?

July 17th marks the opening date of Disneyland — the FIRST ever Disney theme park. Specifically, the park opened on July 17th, 1955, making 2023 its 68th Anniversary! And Disney was READY to celebrate.

…but perhaps the most exciting thing that took place on the 17th was a brief cavalcade celebrating the big occasion. Plenty of guests made their way to the park to experience it.

Crowds

So we grabbed a spot and waited for the cavalcade to start.

It’s Almost Time!

During the cavalcade, we saw ALL KINDS of Disney friends — from Pluto, Goofy, and Daisy…

But wait…there’s MORE. We also saw the Dapper Dans and Gepetto…

There was even a float of a giant birthday cake to celebrate the big day.

This was a limited-time, one-day-only cavalcade, so you really had to time your visit carefully to see it, but it made for a great way to celebrate the big anniversary — only 2 more years until 70!
