Just like anywhere else, trends come and go at Disney World so often that it can be hard to keep up if you aren’t paying attention!

With exciting new merchandise, styles, and snacks rolling in and out of the shops and restaurants nearly every day, it can be easy to forget about the trends that once ran rampant throughout the parks. But, we didn’t forget. We’ll make sure you don’t forget either!
This is a post dedicated to those trends we’ve seen around Disney World that just suddenly… disappeared. Well, they didn’t totally disappear. Most of these are things we can occasionally find in the parks to this day, but every time we see them we’re shocked with a little bit of nostalgia. Like, oh hey! I remember you! I remember when you were a BIG deal!
So, without further ado, here are five forgotten Disney World trends!
1. Snack-Themed Merch
Okay, so — we know that you can find snack merchandise in the parks occasionally. However, do you remember the days when you could find a “Here For the Snacks” T-Shirt around every corner?

Or when pretzel…

…and Mickey waffle-themed merch was donned by half the occupants in a line queue?

Now, we’re not saying that Disney snack merchandise is gone. We did see the churro ears back in May…

…and we’ve found snack-themed phone cases or other items like that. But, Disney doesn’t seem to be going in as intensely on their snack-themed, scented, full-out food collections as they used to!

Who else thinks that snacks should make a comeback as the star of the show? What snack should they focus on next? Turkey leg ears anyone??
Desserts Served in Verrines
This is another one that we still see occasionally, but at one point it seemed like desserts were served in verrines nearly everywhere!

We saw these pop up quite a bit during the holidays for a while…

…and we still occasionally see them today, but they don’t seem to be quite as frequently used as before. Are you a fan of verrines? What desserts would you want to see making a comeback in Disney World?

3. Wishables and Tsum Tsums
Back in the day, Disney Wishables and Tsum Tsums were THE merchandise items to get. You could get the plushes themselves…

…or other merchandise themed to these little buddies.

We occasionally see some of these items in the parks or online, like this 100th Anniversary Tsum Tsum Mystery Pack.

But it seems that for the most part, these trends have been replaced with the Disney Munchlings and nuiMOs.

Somewhat similar to this trend is the shoulder plush trend. We still see a few new ones introduced here and there but it’s not quite like the days of old where new shoulder plushes were appearing all the time!

What would you like to see return as a bigger trend at Disney World — shoulder plushes, Tsum Tsums, or Wishables?
4. Vinylmations
Vinylmations took Disney fans by storm a few years ago! These little figurines resembled fan-favorite Disney characters and would often come in blind boxes so that you never knew exactly what you were getting.

People were collecting and trading these much more frequently before from what we can tell.

And the last time we saw a major collection released was for the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Disney World. So it seems these might not be as popular as they once were in terms of Disney trends. Did you ever collect Vinylmations? Tell us in the comments!
5. Push Pops
We’ve seen a few of these recently, but there was a time when push pop-style desserts were taking OVER.

We kind of miss these being everywhere! Similar to the verrines, these were everywhere one day and then gone seemingly overnight.

We wouldn’t mind seeing some of these again! But we’ll go ahead and say that putting Salmon tartare in a push pop might be a “skip” for us.

What do you think? Did you even realize that these trends had more or less disappeared after a period of time that they reigned supreme in the parks? What trends would you want to see come back?
We’ll continue to keep you updated with all the current Disney trends, and we even might occasionally spark some nostalgia for the old ones — so make sure to follow along for more.
