We’ve been keeping track of all the Disney World health and safety updates since the parks originally reopened last year.

Most recently, Disney changed its face mask policies to allow all guests to remove their face masks when outdoors in the parks and resorts. Though masks were still required indoors, in ride queues, and when on transportation. But, this will be changing again soon.
According to Disney’s website, beginning June 15th fully vaccinated guests will no longer be required to wear face masks in most areas at Disney World.

However, masks will still be required for all guests when riding Disney transportation including all Disney buses, monorails, and the Disney Skyliner.

Disney will not require that guests provide proof of vaccination, but will still be asking that guests who are not fully vaccinated wear masks in all indoor areas including stores, transportation, and when entering and riding attractions.

Disney has also shared that they will continue to relax physical distancing measures for guests in queues, shops, restaurants, attraction boarding, transportation, and theaters, which is something that we are already seeing done in the parks and on rides. Though, select experiences and entertainment will still be operating with limited capacity.

One thing to note about Disney’s new announcement is that it says that they are “not quite ready to bring back everything yet, but we are optimistic and look forward to the day when Disney pals and princesses are able to hug once again.” So, it sounds like it could be a little longer before things like meet and greets return to the parks.

This new face mask policy will take effect on June 15th and guests will need to continue to abide by current guidelines until that date. We will continue to keep an eye out for more updates from Disney on the new mask policy, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!

What about children? Will they be able to enjoy going without a mask in the Florida heat?
Will masks be required on the transportation system’s ferry boats, friendships, boats between and within resort hotels, boats accessing Disney Springs, etc., or are they classified as attractions and therefore exempt?
Asking for a friend.
Hi Peggy! As of right now, 3/4/22, masks are still required on Disney transportation which includes the buses, Monorail, Skyliner and inside the Friendship Boats that travel between resorts and parks.
Going in 98 days!! So excited! Going for my 50th, DW’s 50th, and I just found out the airline I am on is also turning 50!
Soooo hopeful for fast paaaaass.. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜«ðŸ¤žðŸ¤žðŸ¤ž
Agreed. But that won’t happen until Disney is open to near full capacity. That won’t happen until all hotels, restaurants, and shows have opened and returned. Surely by October 1, everything will be open again.
Going in 58 days (Aug 9). First timer
And how many unvaccinated do you think will actually comply and wear masks? I’d wager somewhere in the range of 0.5% and 5%.
I would be surprised if anyone does and if they do it’s for themselves not anyone else if that makes sense. I compared it to when restaurants state that kids meals are for a certain age groups. Many people lie and most of the time the restaurant doesn’t care very much or try to regulate it in any way. It’s the illusion of a rule really.
Because I am fully vaccinated I am not concerned about unvaccinated people. Everyone gets to make their own healthcare decisions and I consider it not my business if they don’t care to get the shot.
I think it will be higher, but not by a lot.
If they haven’t had Covid, maybe they will get the vaccine. If they get sick, they can only blame themselves.I’m going in august and am looking forward to no masks.
