Disney’s Last Star Wars Rival Run Weekend Is Going Virtual Next Year

Participants in runDisney events have seen a lot of changes with those events this year, with many going virtual. And it seems that this will also be the case with events in early 2021.

The Star Wars Rival Run Weekend at Disney World was canceled this year, but it’s still on for next year, although with one big difference — next year’s event will be virtual.

Registration for the Star Wars Rival Run Weekend began earlier this year, and registrants now have the option to receive a full refund or to convert their registration to the new virtual event where they can run at home or on their favorite running track or path.

Those who participate in the virtual race will receive a medal for each distance they complete and the option of a race shirt. Those who have already registered for the event should expect an email soon with instructions on how to proceed.

Disney is also opening registration back up on a limited basis on December 15th at 10AM EST. Participants who booked through a charity or organization should reach out to that organization. Runners who booked directly through the Walt Disney Travel Company should call 407-939-4786. More information can be found on the runDisney website.
