Disneyland Resort to Celebrate 63 Years on July 17 with a Tribute to Opening Day

When Walt Disney opened Disneyland Park on July 17, 1955, it had 18 attractions, no Disney hotels and little but orange groves surrounding it. Now, as Disneyland Resort marks its 63rd anniversary, the original theme park has expanded to become a world-class family resort destination. With more than six decades of inspiration and innovation, the resort includes two renowned Disney theme parks, nearly 100 exciting attractions, three hotels and the shopping, dining and entertainment district known as Downtown Disney. Disneyland will commemorate its role as the original Disney theme park Tuesday, July 17, with festivities that include the "Happiest March on Earth" down Main Street, U.S.A.

Disneyland Resort Debuts Incredicoaster as Pixar Pier Opens June 23

Pixar Pier opens at Disney California Adventure on June 23. The area will include two re-imagined attractions: the Incredicoaster and Pixar Pal-A-Round, as well as the new Lamplight Lounge restaurant. There will be several new quick service dining locations: Jack-Jack's Cookie Num Num's, Poultry Palace, Senor Buzz Churros, and Angry Dogs. Tickets are still available for the Pixar Pier Premiere party on June 22, where guests will get an advance look at the new area and an opportunity to experience attractions, entertainment and the new food offerings. EDITOR'S NOTE: AllEar's.net's Jeanine Yamanaka and Laura Gilbreath will be attending the Pixar Pier media event on June 21-22, so watch for their tweets and updates.
