Have you ever thought you’d like to work at Disney World?

Maybe you’re thinking of your dream role like running those fantastic attractions or whipping up some amazing Dole Whips! Either way, if you’re thinking about applying, I’ve got your back. Here’s everything you need to know about applying to the Disney College Program.
If you’ve ever dreamt of being part of the magical world of Disney through the Disney College Program, you may have wondered just how challenging it is to secure a spot in this program. Let’s take a closer look at what it takes to make your Disney dreams come true.

First and foremost, it’s important to recognize that getting accepted into the Disney College Program may not happen on your first attempt. Many applicants go through the process multiple times before receiving an offer. So, my advice is to treat each application as practice and gain valuable experience along the way. Even if you do get accepted, you always have the option to decline the offer if you feel you’re not quite ready to embark on this journey.

When it comes to building your resume, it’s crucial to stack it up with any relevant experience you can think of. Whether it’s babysitting, being a lifeguard at a summer camp, or any other relevant roles, every bit of experience counts. Showcase your skills, responsibilities, and achievements to demonstrate your dedication and work ethic.

For those interested in the entertainment aspect of the program, be aware that a separate audition process is involved. These auditions can also be challenging to succeed in on your first attempt. Consider researching the audition schedule each year and auditioning a few times to gain valuable experience and refine your skills before you’re fully prepared to head to Orlando.

You may have heard the amusing saying that after 4 PM, Disney World is run exclusively by 21-year-olds. While there may be some truth to it, don’t be mistaken into thinking that the application process is a walk in the park. The program requires committed individuals who are willing to put in the effort and dedication required to make magical experiences for guests.

Remember, the more open-minded and flexible you are about the roles you’re willing to take on, the higher your chances of being accepted. During the interview process, emphasize any relevant experience, such as lifeguarding, as it can make a difference. However, be prepared for the unexpected, as the final question may revolve around your willingness to work in food and beverage, custodial, or another role. Stay open to all possibilities, as your answer to that question might determine the role you are ultimately offered.

Again, as a quick recap, build your resume, gain relevant skills, and be prepared to seize any opportunity that comes your way! Your determination and passion for the magic of Disney will undoubtedly increase your chances of joining the ranks of the dedicated individuals who bring joy to guests from around the world.
