There’s a BIG celebration happening at Disneyland right now!
Disneyland is celebrating its 70th Anniversary, and there are lots of special offerings going on in the coming months. Parades, fireworks, merchandise, and special experiences are filling the park. But there’s one day when the party is going to be at its peak!
July 17th, 2025 is Disneyland Park’s official 70th Anniversary date. Because of this, we’re expecting the park to be particularly crowded.
Several of the special offerings kicked off on Friday, May 16th, and the park was already “sold out” that day, so we’re already starting to plan for the big crowds on the actual birthday. Even though the celebration runs through the summer of 2026, people want to be there for the big day.
In addition, some of the offerings won’t be available until July 17th. On that day, a new verse to the song will be added to “it’s a small world.” Also, July 17th will be the opening for a new gallery experience at The Opera House and the premiere of Walt Disney — A Magical Life.
Walt Disney — A Magical Life is a new show that will eventually alternate showings with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. It will feature the first-ever audio-animatronic of Walt Disney himself. What a great way to celebrate the park that Walt built!
So, what else can you do to honor the occasion at Disneyland in the next year? Well, you can enjoy the fan-favorite Paint the Night Parade or the return of the Wondrous Journeys nighttime show. You can even meet with Mickey and Minnie in special anniversary outfits.
Over at California Adventure, the offerings continue with the new “World of Color Happiness!” show. They’ve also brought back the “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” parade. And be sure to ride Toy Story Midway Mania! to check out the 70th Anniversary ride overlay.
So if you’re heading to Disneyland Resort soon, be prepared for possibly heavy crowds and a whole lot o’ fun! We’ll be covering all that the anniversary celebration has to offer this year.
