We Just Stumbled on a New Disney World Security Rule

Even though we’re in the thick of hurricane season here in Florida, it’s still the best time to use our favorite Disney World essentials.

Since Disney World is in Florida, there are several things you always have to prepare for — the sun and the rain. It also doesn’t hurt to have a comfortable pair of shoes for all the walking you do throughout the parks. But let’s talk about one specific essential that you’ll find as useful as we do! Let’s dive right in!

Speaking of throwing it in your bag, there is something you need to be aware of when you go through Disney World security while carrying this umbrella.

If you didn’t know, Disney World has been using metal detectors that don’t require you to have your bag checked separately. In most cases, all you’ll have to do is walk right on through.

That being said, umbrellas, metal water bottles, sunglass cases, and even some portable chargers have a tendency to set the metal detectors off. The best way to avoid the headache is to take those things out of your bag and hold them out in front of you while walking through the metal detectors.

In this example, if you have this UV Umbrella in your bag, go ahead and take it out of your bag, take it out of its case, and hold both the umbrella and the case in front of you wile you walk through the metal detector. The machine will still beep, but security will wave you through because they can see what you have.
