Bienvenidos from the official grand opening of Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort!
This morning, July 9, AllEars.net attended the grand opening ceremony for the new Tower, at the same time celebrating the re-imagination of the entire Coronado Springs Resort.
Spanish musicians and dancers were on hand to entertain and get the proceedings rollings.
Former Walt Disney World Ambassador Vanessa Rosas then introduced Thomas Mazloum, Senior Vice President, Resorts, for The Walt Disney Company.
Mazloum welcomed everyone to the “new chapter” of Coronado Springs Resort, noting that this opening completes a multiyear re-imagining of the resort. In addition to the new Tower, with its 545 rooms, rooftop restaurant and lounges, meeting space and more, the resort also recently debuted three new pedestrian bridges that span Lago Dorado, as well as a new outdoor restaurant, Three Bridges Bar & Grill.
Of course, no ceremony at Disney World is complete without a visit by the Main Mouse! Mickey made an appearance to everyone’s delight.
And amid a shower of confetti, the new Tower, and the reimagined resort, were officially pronounced open!
After the ceremony, a number of Disney senior management and Coronado Springs cast members posed with the Big Cheese for photos.
