On December 8, 2011, Disney Vacation Club announced the newest resort: the Vilas at the Grand Floridian.

147 villas are being constructed as part of a previously announced expansion of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, one of the premier resort hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Opening October 23, 2013, this new resort experience is the 12th Disney Vacation Club property and is located near the spa and wedding pavilion at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. In addition to villa accommodations there will be a children's play area and other amenities.

Launch Period Booking Window - As Home Resort Priority reservations for The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort will begin only 5 months before the Resort's scheduled October 23, 2013 opening date, Disney Vacation Club has temporarily altered traditional booking windows to ensure that Members who call this Resort "home" will still enjoy Home Resort priority.

Members who own at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort may begin using their Home Resort vacation points to book stays at the Resort for check-in dates as far as 11 months out, as normal.

However, when reservations open to other Members beginning June 23, 2013, reservations with check-in dates ranging from October 23, 2013 through December 31, 2013 will be available in a 4-month booking window instead of the usual 7. Reservations with check-in dates beginning on or after January 1, 2014, will be available to be booked through their typical 7-month booking window starting on June 23.

This temporary alteration of traditional booking windows is designed to provide Home Resort Priority during the grand opening of this new Resort.

There will be Villas that include Studios, 1 and 2 Bedroom Villas.

As with all the Disney Vacation Club resorts on property, anyone can rent rooms or suites at theVillas at the Grand Floridian, subject to availability. You do NOT have to be a member of the DVC.
