Magic Kingdom has changed again!

Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America have closed permanently to make way for Piston Peak. This construction is beginning soon, and it’s impacting another park attraction!
A Magic Kingdom staple is changing! Luckily, it isn’t closing (which it feels like is happening a lot right now in Disney World). If you’re planning on hopping on the Walt Disney World Railroad, it’s going to look a bit different.

Construction is beginning in Magic Kingdom on the upcoming Piston Peak area and the Frontierland Train Station. During construction, the train will continue to operate, but rather than a full circle around the park, it’s running on “shuttle mode.”

The change begins today, July 7th! The train is running between the Main Street Station and the Fantasyland Station during the changes, going back and forth. In addition to the train changing how it runs, the seats will change as well! Not only is it in shuttle mode, but some of the benches are also turned around! That means you have the option to sit forward or backward, no matter which direction you are going.

The narration has also changed on the train! The train conductor introduces you to a new experiment that he’s working with, and then, because it’s an experiment, he brings in Experiment 626, better known as Stitch. Stitch is super lovable and a very familiar voice. He wants to ring the train’s whistle, and at the very end, he does get a chance to ring the whistle!

Disney hasn’t confirmed when the train will resume its traditional path around the park, but we are wondering if this change will last until construction is completed for the new land. While we don’t love the idea of this long change, it is much better than the closure we experienced when Tron was being built and the train had to close for several years!

If you don’t want to worry about keeping up with all of these changes, let someone else do it for you! If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel.
They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you! We can’t wait to see how these changes impact the park and how we tend to explore during our time in Magic Kingdom. As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney news and updates!
