NEW Disney Park Store Announced

A totally rethemed area is coming to Disney California Adventure Park soon and we’ve got more details about it!

Disney previously announced that San Fransokyo Square — an area themed to Big Hero 6 — would be coming to Disney California Adventure, taking over the Pacific Wharf area. We’ve already heard some of what the space will include, like a Baymax meet-and-greet and rethemed restaurant space, but now Disney has released NEW details!

If you’re hoping to meet Baymax, you’ll be able to do so outside the Hamada Bot Shop. PLUS, Hiro will be there too! The Bot Shop is where the team from Big Hero 6 “builds and innovates their hi-tech gear.” According to Disney, you “may also see a few of their upcoming inventions,” so you’ll want to look closely in that area!

Near the Bot Shop, you’ll find a NEW store called the San Fransokyo Maker’s Market. This spot will be (according to Disney) “stocked with unique apparel, homewares and more featuring Baymax and friends.”

Some concept art for this space has been shared that shows the shelves being situated on robot storage cases and even some decommissioned battle bots on display. Plus, you’ll want to look closely at the rafters above because you might spot “the local battlebot champion, Hiro’s Megabot!”

If you’re hoping to get more merchandise, look for a vending machine in the area. It’ll have golden medallions available that’ll feature Baymax and other images from San Fransokyo.

For now, Disney has shared that starting in mid-July, Lucky Fortune Cookery will offer new eats and the Port of San Fransokyo Cerveceria will open. In the weeks that follow, more dining options, unique shopping, and more will open. The entire transformation of the space is set to continue through mid-August.
