NEW LEGOLAND Florida Experience Celebrates the World Cup

Although Disney World, Disneyland, and Universal Orlando are where you’ll find us on most days, we often visit other theme parks to explore what’s out there. We’ve been to theme parks all over the world, as well as to Dollywood (and THAT was an adventure), and we’re even getting ready to check out Universal Kids Resort in Texas.

However, we often visit LEGOLAND Florida, too, which often has special experiences to check out. Recently, we got the opportunity to check out LEGOLAND’s FIFA World Cup Experience, and we’re going to tell you all about it.

The FIFA World Cup Experience is exclusive to LEGOLAND and is a “limited-timie high-energy soccer celebration, featuring LEGO soccer heroes, interactive soccer games, and epic LEGO build activities.” The event runs from June 11th through July 19th and is included with regular park admission.

The event features loads of interactive games, as well as experiences inspired by LEGO soccer heroes. There are even challenges to score against a LEGO minifigure and Training Academy stations, including Spot Shot, where you’ll take your best shot in a fast-paced accuracy challenge.

There’s also Super Squad, a fun, fast-paced family-friendly passing game. Each participant is assigned a color and is challenged to quickly pass the ball to the correct person when the color is called.

Then you can take the final Training Academy challenge, the Kick-Off! where you’ll be challenged to score a goal against a LEGO minifigure. We were really surprised by how inventive the challenges are.

You can also meet soccer legends in LEGO form. like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Vinícius Júnior. Other activities include a chance to design your dream soccer jersey in LEGO bricks and then add it to the Heroes of Play Wall. You can also celebrate your own personal victory with a photo moment with the LEGO FIFA World Cup Trophy.

The FIFA World Cup Experience also brings special, limited-time food to LEGOLAND. We stopped by the Legoland Coffee Co. to check out the Green Apple Frozen Lemonade for $10.37. We loved how the green apple flavor is blended throughout the lemonade. You’ll also find green apple bobas on the top and bottom of the drink. It’s strange, but the lemonade helps cut the sour flavor from all that green apple, so you don’t have to worry about it making your mouth pucker. It’s a delicious drink that we found very refreshing.

We also stopped by Dragon’s Den to try a few snacks, including the Messy Fries for $10.89. Now, these fries aren’t exactly for kids, because they have a lot of toppings: cheese, ham, pulled pork, bacon, and chives. Messy is a good name for them because that’s what they are. It’s a LOT of food, but if you love loaded fries, you’ll probably love these.

You can also grab the BBQ Dog for $11.89, which is a hot dog topped with pulled pork, BBQ sauce, crispy onions, and coleslaw. Again, this is more of a snack for adults, what with all those toppings. It’s so much that it makes the bun soggy, and no one likes a soggy hot dog bun. You’ll need a knife and fork for this snack, and they should have named this Messy Dog, because it’s a lot like the fries. The pulled pork is tasty and well-seasoned, though, and you get a generous portion.

This experience was a lot of fun, and guests were really getting into it. The LEGOLAND Model Citizens did a great job at keeping energy levels high. You’ll also be listening to some iconic soccer songs during the event.

The event is dedicated to one area of the park, so if you don’t want to participate, you don’t have to. But if you have kids, you might want to bring them over to check it out. You might have a future soccer fan…or World Cup player… in your family.
