Here at AllEars, we love theme parks, and we love a good chocolate bar. So obviously, we love Hersheypark, themed after the iconic Hershey’s chocolate bar!

But Hersheypark will look totally different soon — the theme park will close one of its most iconic attractions this fall after a 32-year run!

Tidal Force is a popular water ride at Hersheypark, featuring a steep 100-foot incline before a big drop and downhill speeds that top 50 mph before ending in a huge splash, one of the largest bursts in all of Hersheypark. The classic ride has been drenching Hersheypark visitors since 1994.

Hersheypark confirmed that the popular flume ride’s last day will be September 7th. “When a vessel takes its last voyage, we believe it deserves a proper send-off. After 32 years of making the biggest splashes Hersheypark has seen, we’ll dock the boats permanently after September 7th. Do not miss your chance to catch the splash one last time this summer!”

Hersheypark hasn’t announced a reason for the closure or what will replace the beloved attraction. In January, Hersheypark unveiled several changes to The Boardwalk at Hersheypark, including two new water play areas and 45 new aquatic elements. Hersheypark is likely expanding the Boardwalk yet again, considering Tidal Force’s neighboring location.
