The world might feel a little less magical today.

According to The Washington Post, Johnny Crawford, one of Disney’s first Mouseketeers, has passed away at the age of 75.
For Disney fans, the original The Mickey Mouse Club is legendary. And the first group of Mouseketeers paved the way for Disney child stars for decades to come. Johnny Crawford was only nine years old when he first appeared on the show in 1955. Although he only spent one season on the series, Disney fans will never forget him.

He went on to appear in The Lone Ranger and The Rifleman. At the age of 13, he was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Emmy for his work on Gunsmoke. He also had a singing career that resulted in several top 40 hits. He continued to act into adulthood and appeared on Hawaii Five-O, Little House on the Prairie, and Murder, She Wrote.

According to his wife, Charlotte McKenna-Crawford, he had Alzheimer’s disease and his health had been declining after he was hospitalized for COVID-19 and pneumonia.
Thank you, Johnny, for the joy you brought us and countless children as a Mouseketeer and Western TV star.
