I stayed at AoA in December of 2019, but I believe my review still stands for our current environment. This resort is perfect for a couple of college kids who don't have money to splurge on hotels & ammenities. I went with a group of friends, me and 5 others, and stayed in the Lion King family suite. And it was perfect! The rooms were nicely laid out, there was a ton of space, and also has 2 bathrooms, and between 5 people it was probably what spared many fights. The theming is everywhere, but for kids who grew up with those movies, it was delightful. I only give it a 9 because there were children everywhere & the food court was super noisy, but you're only there for a short while. Also, it's near the Skyliner, which is now my favorite mode of Disney transportation. A great resort for college-aged kids who want to have a goofy environment to stay in!

Pros:

Fun theming, affordable, near the Skyliner

Cons:

Limited dining options, children are everywhere

We loved this place and will be back.

Pros:

Way cool decor, great food court, The Big Blue Pool!

Cons:

It’s freaking huge. If your in the little mermaid rooms it’s quite a haul from the bus stop. Same goes with the food court and everything else

We loved Art of Animation!! If you have kids this is the resort for you!

Pros:

Amazing atmosphere, great front desk and bellmen, awesome store, and the sweetest cast members working at landscapes of flavor who went above and beyond to accommodate allergies/picky kids

Cons:

House keeping every 3rd day isn't something I loved but not a deal breaker

Stayed in family suite and it was very nice. Loved the resort. But now the cost has almost doubled! Not a budget resort by any means.

Pros:

Pool shopping food

Cons:

Way to much money! can stay at a 4 or 5 star hotel off Disney property and be clos to Disney world.

We stayed in a Lion King family suite in 2015 and it was magical. The kids adored all of the immersive theming as did we. We also really enjoyed the room layout, having extra space and an extra bathroom ! The food court had some great selections too.

Pros:

Incredible theming, spacious family suites, great food options, awesome pools

Cons:

Having multiple lines to get various food court offerings instead of one order location. Very spread out so you could be far away from dining and transportaion. The little mermaid rooms are very small and only have two full size beds instead of queens.

Tons of fun and walking

Pros:

Great features, the theming was off the charts. The big blue pool!

Cons:

The place is huge. We stayed in the Little Mermaid rooms that were a long way from everything. I guess look at a map next time

Roomy and well-themed, especially if you have small children. We really enjoyed having both a refrigerator and a microwave oven, as well as the coffee maker. It was a little tight for our party (3 adults and 3 children ages 6 - 9), but Guest Services brought us a rollaway bed so we slept fine. The pools were wonderful. Dining was average but adequate at Landscape of Flavors.

Pros:

You can sleep up to six adults, and you do have a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker.

Cons:

It can be a little cramped if you have more than two adults or your children are older.

We had a fantastic stay at this resort!! The Disney magic is everywhere. The different pools, the family atmosphere, the skyliner transportation, the themed rooms...everything was perfect! Our only complaint would be the size of the resort. Walking to and from our room was a 10-12 minute walk. With 3 small children, coming back to the hotel after a day long at the parks, the walk to our room was long.
We will definitely return to this resort. Our kids will be older too, so the dreaded walk to our room should not be a problem next time.

Pros:

Themed rooms Skyliner Different choices of pools Food variety Family atmosphere Friendly staff Disney magic is everywhere!

Cons:

Big resort Crowded Long walk to transportation No water slide
