Everything you need to know about new Happily Ever After fireworks at Disney’s Magic Kingdom

On May 11, Walt Disney World bids farewell to its long-running Wishes fireworks show. On May 12, it ushers in its new nighttime spectacular, Happily Ever After. The Disney Parks Blog will be live-streaming the debut, so even if you can't be at the Magic Kingdom on Friday, you can see Happily Ever After. Tune in at 8:55 p.m. ET. Less than a week ago, Glow With The Show ear hats debuted at Walt Disney World during a Fantasmic performance. On Saturday, the hats began working with the Celebrate the Magic castle projection show and the Wishes fireworks presentation at the Magic Kingdom, and my children and I were in the thick of the crowds on Main Street, U.S.A., to witness the first displays.

My 11-year-old son has had many special experiences at Walt Disney World because we live locally and are annual passholders. But one event he hadn't been to and *really* wanted to attend was the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party. Disney fireworks are among his favorite attractions, and to be able to see them from the perfect vantage point while eating unlimited sweets -- well, that was the perfect birthday celebration recently.
