Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs will hold its inaugural Craft Beers and Bites Festival on July 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. The event will feature eight Florida craft breweries, with individual food pairings prepared by Morimoto Asia Executive Chef Yuhi Fujinaga. The festival's $49.80 (tax included) price tag entitles you to unlimited beer and bites, with 100 percent of the profits benefiting Children's Home Society of Florida.

Details of the 22nd annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival were announced today. The 75-day event, which runs from August 31 to November 13 this year, will celebrate Epcot's 35th anniversary with a record number of Festival Marketplaces -- 35 -- as well as food and wine pairings, tasting events and premium dining experiences across the Walt Disney World Resort.

Several dining locations at Disney's Yacht Club Resort have undergone or will be undergoing a number of changes:

-- The Market at Ale and Compass is a new casual dining spot with a small merchandise area and 28 seats. It offers both made-to-order and grab 'n go menu items, along with a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine, beer and wine, and a station that has specialty coffees and smoothies. You can see the menu for the new market HERE.
-- The Ale and Compass lounge, located in the lobby of the Yacht Club, is being re-imagined and will reopen in October with a new interior. The lounge will be expanded to 58 seats and will offer a new menu of classic cocktails and "light bites."
-- The Captain's Grille restaurant will become Ale and Compass Restaurant, with a new menu of New England-inspired comfort food. The restaurant, which will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, will feature an on-stage hearth oven.

A new Italian restaurant, Terralina Crafted Italian, is slated to open this fall at Disney Springs on the site of the former Portobello Country Italian Trattoria. James Beard Award-winning Chef Tony Mantuano will curate the new menu, and Chef Justin Plank will return from Portobello to run the kitchen.

The Mobile Order Service that debuted in May with the opening of Satu'li Canteen in Pandora - The World of Avatar in Animal Kingdom has been expanded to include several other counter-service restaurants in the park. You can now order food using the My Disney Experience app also at these locations: Flame Tree BBQ; Pizzafari; and Restaurantosaurus. Only credit and debit cards are being accepted currently; to use Disney Gift Cards, Disney dining plans or any discounts you'll have to order in person at the restaurant. When you arrive at the restaurant, open the app, tap on the image of your character and press the "I'm Here, Prepare My Order" button. When your food is ready, you will receive a notification from the app and pick up your meal at the area with the "Mobile Order Pick Up" sign.

From today until June 30, Sprinkles, the cupcake bakery at Disney Springs, is running a special "Golden Ticket" promotion. Each day during the promotion, one golden ticket will be baked inside a randomly selected Red Velvet cupcake. The person who finds the golden ticket in his or her cupcake wins a Sprinkles gift card valued at between $25 and $100.

Two Walt Disney World chefs are among Dessert Professional Magazine's "Top 10 Pastry Chefs in America." Stefan Riemer, executive pastry chef on the Culinary Development team for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, was classically trained in Europe and joined the Disney Culinary team in 1999. In his current role he develops and implements pastry menus and new pastry brands such as Amorette's Patisserie and The Ganachery at Disney Springs. Olivier Saintemarie, executive pastry chef for Chefs de France restaurant in the France pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase, was also classically trained in Europe. He joined Disney Cruise Line in 1999 and moved to Epcot in 2014. He oversees bread and pastry production for Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, Les Chefs de France, Monsieur Paul and L'Artisan des Glaces.

Walt Disney World 2018 vacation packages went on sale today, June 20. Along with that, Disney has released updated information for its 2018 Dining Plans. One of the biggest changes to next year's dining plans is the inclusion of certain alcoholic beverages. Other specialty beverages have also been included in the plans. For guests with a vacation package that includes a Disney Dining Plan:
-- Those over the age of 21 can choose either one single serving non-alcoholic beverage (including specialty beverages where offered) or one single serving mixed cocktail, beer, or wine. A single-serving non-alcoholic beverage includes items such as: artisanal milkshakes; fresh smoothies; premium hot chocolates; soda, coffee, or tea. A single-serving alcoholic beverage includes items such as: beer or cider; wine or sangria; mixed drinks and specialty cocktails (some exceptions apply).
-- Those under the age of 21 can choose a single serving non-alcoholic beverage as described above.
These beverages are included with a table-service or quick-service meal entitlement, not individually.
In addition, prices for the 2018 dining plans are as follows:
-- Quick-Service Dining Plan is $52.49 per night per adult; $21.75 per night per child age 3-9
-- Basic Dining Plan is $75.49 per night per adult; $25.80 per night per child age 3-9
-- Deluxe Dining Plan is $116.24 per night per adult; $39.90 per night per child age 3-9

Reservations are now open for the brand-new Frozen Ever After Dessert Party, which offers reserved seating for the fireworks spectacular "IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth," along with delicious desserts and a special opportunity to enjoy the Frozen Ever After attraction in the Norway pavilion. Starting July 17, 2017, the party, which will take place in World Showcase Plaza East overlooking World Showcase Lagoon, will feature decor, drinks, desserts and snacks inspired by the film Frozen. Adults 21 years and older will be able to enjoy alcoholic beverages such as a pina colada, margarita or "Summertime Punch," a refreshing blend of prickly pear syrup, vodka, lemonade and ginger ale. After IllumiNations, guests will be escorted to the Norway pavilion for a special ride on Frozen Ever After. Cost is $79 for guests ages 10 and above, $47 for ages 3 to 9 -- tax and gratuity included. Reservations can be made by visiting DisneyWorld.com/dine or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

A recent article in the Orlando Business Journal reported that Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe at Disney Springs, operated by Chicago-based Levy Restaurants Inc., will close for good soon. The site, which encompasses several smaller venues (The Dining Room, Express, Sushi Bar and the Cafe), will begin laying off 193 workers starting August 1. Levy Restaurants is not involved in Puck's plans for Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill, a new location set to open in 2018 that will "modernize the traditional bar and grill concept in a setting inspired by traditional farmhouses with a touch of elegance. In addition, the Journal also speculated that Bongo's Cuban Cafe, owned by singer Gloria Estefan, may soon close.
