Soarin’ Over California returned to Disneyland’s California Adventure this month. When the “Over California” version of the attraction returned it was originally slated to be back for only a month.
Disney just announced the “Over California” version of this attraction has been so popular, it will stay on for a little while longer.
Soarin’ Over California will remain in Disney California Adventure until August 31, 2019. After that date it will revert to Soarin’ Around the World.
Plus, Annual Passholders can enjoy an extra hour at Soarin’ Over California after park closing every Thursday night, beginning June 27 through the end of July. Blockout dates apply.
Epcot‘s Soarin’ attraction remains Soarin’ Around the World.

I much prefer Soarin’ over California. Some comments suggest “Soarin’ Around the World” is fine in WDW and could be a seasonal event in DCA. I agree with this.
They should have just restored the original movie – it should still be about California, especially when the name of the park is Disney’s CALIFORNIA Adventure! 🤷 Maybe make “Soarin Around The World” the one they show seasonally or something…
I agree. Or just have Soarin Around the World at WDW so there are more differences between the parks on each coast, to give people a reason to visit both. I hate that MK is just kind of a rip off of Disneyland. I think all of the parks should be completely different. As much as they love shaking us down for our dollars you would have thought that they would have thought of this, but then again, WDW was being created while Walt was still alive and he was more concerned about everyone having a chance to enjoy Disneyland and not breaking the bank to get there so I get it. Ah the good old days when it really was about families and not how much money they could get. It always comes back to that. lol
I can’t quite figure out why they are doing this? Is something wrong or being corrected with the newer movie? From what I recall, they made the new movie because the other one was looking rough, why bring it back without restoring it? It would be cool if they mixed it up and you didn’t know which one you were getting…or just had both to choose from.
