A new on-the-water bar and grill called Villa del Lago will open at Disney’s Coronado Springs resort in 2019, along with the previously announced new 15-story tower that is currently under construction.

The new eatery, which will serve light fare and beverages, will seat 60, with room for an additional 90 in designated group areas. Its over-the-water location will be connected to the rest of the resort, which also hosts a convention center, by a series of bridges.

Work is well under way on the new tower, which will add an additional 500 rooms with suites and concierge level services to this moderate resort. The tower will overlook the resort’s centerpiece lake, Lago Dorado, and will offer rooftop dining with panoramic views of nighttime fireworks from nearby Disney theme parks.

As part of this project, Coronado Springs is also reimagining its current resort rooms and transforming its landscape. Despite these changes, the resort’s theme, reflecting the spirit of adventure of the Spanish explorers of North America, will stay the same.

The addition of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort tower will bring the number Walt Disney World Resort rooms to nearly 30,000 within its 27 resort hotels.
