Eat To The Beat Concerts – Starship Photos

Here are some pictures I took of the Starship concert on Thursday. For those of you who don’t know Starship, they are a rock group who had a number of hit songs in the 70’s and 80’s. Some of their hits were: Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now, Sara, Count On Me, Jane, White Rabbit, Somebody To Love and We Built This City.

My wife and I stayed for all three concerts. Starship did change up many of the songs from the first set to the second. However, the third set was mostly a repeat of the first set. Each set ended with We Built This City. Mickey Thomas still has a beautiful and powerful voice! And the only thing I can say about Stephanie Calvert is WOW! Just amazing! Mickey and Stephanie sing beautifully together and I really loved their duet of Set The Night To Music. They sang it beautifully! Also loved Mickey singing Rocky Raccoon! They are great entertainers; if you get the chance to see the perform, don’t miss that opportunity.

NOTE: For a number of reasons I am not able to blog on all of the Eat To The Beat concerts this year. However, I had hoped that I could post a couple of videos for you to enjoy of the performers whose concerts that I was able to attend. I was able to do that for both the Taylor Dayne and Kool & The Gang concerts. Unfortunately, it’s looking more and more like Disney has banned videotaping at Epcot concerts. An announcement to that effect is being made before each performance. Although many in the audience ignored that request I didn’t. If they say no videotaping then I respect that request and will only take pictures.

  1. Hi — love your blogs! Just wanted to mention: we’re tremendous fans of Jefferson Airplane and Grace Slick and thought you might like to know it was the Jefferson Airplane that broke out with White Rabbit and Somebody to Love, and while Mickey Thomas was part of the Airplane, Grace Slick had nothing to do with Starship. And, while the Airplane could be considered one of the pioneer psychedelic bands, the Starship is decidedly soft/pop rock.
