Disney is celebrating Mickey Mouse’s upcoming 90th birthday in so many ways that we’re losing count. In addition to special events at Disney Parks around the world, an official portrait has been released and a special pop-up exhibition will open in NYC with preview installations across the country.
Now the ABC Television Network has announced that it will air a celebration of Mickey Mouse, “Mickey’s 90th Spectacular,” on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. EST. The two-hour television event honoring 90 years of Mickey, who made his big-screen debut in Steamboat Willie on Nov. 18, 1928, will feature appearances by Kristen Bell (Anna from Disney’s “Frozen”), Sofia Carson (Disney’s “Descendants”), Tony Hale (“Veep,” “Arrested Development”), and Sarah Hyland (ABC’s “Modern Family”). There will also be special musical performances by Josh Groban, NCT 127, Leslie Odom Jr., Meghan Trainor and Zac Brown Band.
Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Robert A. Iger also will make a special appearance during the evening’s festivities.
More names and details on this two-hour TV event will be announced soon.
