The initial announcement of a new signature dining experience in Epcot’s Japan only told us the location would be “inspired by nature.” Disney has just announced a few more details — including an opening season for the new location.
The new location will be called Takumi-Tei and it will be opening this summer.
Takumi-Tei will be a signature dining experience, in addition to Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining. Takumi-Tei will not be replacing either of these longstanding dining options.
In Japanese, Takumi-Tei means “house of the artisan.” The design of the new location will celebrate the relationship between Japanese craftsmanship and the natural world. The food will be inspired by the collaboration between nature and takumi, the artisan.
The upscale dinner menu will highlight Wagyu beef in a sublime setting. There will be an option to indulge in a multi-course tasting menu featuring traditional tea service. Signature cocktails and premium sake will be available, along with a wine and craft beer menu.
Takumi-Tei will be operated by Mitsukoshi USA, which operates the merchandise store, Teppan Edo , Tokyo Dining, and various kiosks in the Japan pavilion.
Advanced Dining Reservation availability and an exact opening date were not included in the announcement today.
