5 of the Coolest Things for Adults on the Disney Fantasy

Ahoy there! from the Disney Fantasy! Today we are sailing the high seas to show you some of the most amazing features aboard this Disney Cruise Line ship. And sorry kids — these are all for adults!

Disney Fantasy Ship Deck

One of the best parts of a Disney cruise is that every member of the family has areas on the ship just for them. From the littlest to the oldest, there’s magic for everyone. Disney wants to make sure there’s fun for the family as a whole, as well as special spaces where the kids can be kids and the grown-ups can be grown-ups (well… not TOO grown up!).

Here are five of the coolest things for adults to do on board the Disney Fantasy:

Cove Cafe

Cove Cafe

Need your java fix? Head to Cove Cafe – an adults-only coffee shop and lounge! The menu has everything from lattes to mochas to espresso, as well as pastries and more “spirited” beverages (read: alcoholic).

The Cove Cafe gives you the feeling of being on a ship during the golden age of sailing. Imagine the 1920s and 1930s, when ships were the posh way to travel across the sea (for some). The cafe has gorgeous leather seats and wood detail, making this truly a luxe spot for adults.

Walt Disney Family Photos

While you won’t see bright colors or lots of Mickeys (remember “adult space”), photos from the Walt Disney family archives are hung all over the walls! It’s fun to see more of the man who started it all, while enjoying a delicious coffee! Plus, you are still on a Disney Cruise, so a little magic will always be a part of the experience.

A Touch of Magic

Senses Spa

If you want the ultimate in relaxation during your Cruise, head to the Senses Spa. They have everything from an adults-only fitness center to a fresh-squeezed juice bar. If you want to be pampered, they have massages, facials, hair and nail services – even teeth-whitening!

Rainforest Room Showers

One of the most unique features of the Senses Spa is the Rainforest Room. You can buy a one-day or an all-cruise pass, and you’ll have access to the entire Rainforest Suite. This includes saunas and these amazing showers, where each one has uniquely programmed water patterns, scents and lighting!

Senses Spa Private Couples Villa

Couples who want the ultimate in relaxation can book the Private Couples Villa. This will get you a luxurious couples massage, access to a gorgeous spa shower, and a private balcony with a whirlpool where you can enjoy refreshments and overlook the sea. Sounds pretty amazing right?

Europa

Skyline Lounge

For nightlife, adults can head to the Europa District of the ship. Here you’ll find a variety of lounges, all themed after countries in Europe. There’s something for everyone! Sip a glass of bubbly at Ooh-la-la, a French champagne bar, or watch the big game at O’Gill’s, an Irish pub, or rock out in the London Underground at The Tube. Even the bathrooms are themed after the Spanish Red Mountains!

Europa Bathrooms

One of the most unique lounges is the Skyline Club. When you enter, you’ll see a bird’s-eye view of a gorgeous city in the world outside the windows. It might be Athens, Barcelona, or Paris — just to name a few! You’ll be transported by the music and the atmosphere, and then all of a sudden — swoosh. The view changes, the music changes, even the drink specials change! Every 12 minutes a new city appears. It’s like drinking around the world at Epcot — and you can do it all from the same chair!

The Disney Fantasy also offers a variety of mixology and tasting classes. These are a great way to learn how to make a new drink or find a new favorite adult beverage!

Art of the Theme Show Tour

Ratatouille Painting

Are you the kind of person who loves learning more about Disney and how they make all the magic? If so, you’ll love the Art of the Theme Show Tour! This free adults-only tour is led by a Disney Cruise Line cast member who takes you through various parts of the ship, explaining the key elements to what makes Disney Cruise Line so unique and well… magical. They will point out those subtle touches that make the Disney experience so immersive — from the varied heights of the ceilings to the little touches of magic you might not even notice.

For example, check out this concept art above from Ratatouille that appropriately hangs in the stairwell near Remy, an adults-only French restaurant. Notice the shadows that Remy and Emile are casting on the building across the way. It should be two mice, but instead, it’s a mouse and a man. Remind you of anything? It’s the Partners statue from Magic Kingdom!  So magical!

Be Our Chef

One of the coolest things adults can do on the Disney Fantasy is go behind the scenes at Palo, the adults only Italian restaurant, and learn from the chefs! That’s right, the Disney Fantasy has its very own, exclusive cooking class called “Be Our Chef.”

Palo’s Chef de Cuisine, Chef Salvatore making Butternut Squash Agnolotti

You’ll start the class by meeting with the Chef, as well as a surprise celebrity Guest Chef (spoiler alert: he’s got BIG ears!). Then, it’s time to head into the galley (ship-talk for kitchen) where the Chef team will show you how to make various dishes. When we went, we learned how to make Margherita Pizza, Butternut Squash Agnolotti, and Limoncello Tart. The experience is very hands on — you’ll actually be making all three dishes!

After learning to make the food, it’s time to eat! The “Be Our Chef” experience includes lunch, as well as wine pairings from Palo’s master sommelier. You’ll also walk away with some fun goodies — including your very own chef coat, recipe cards, and your photos with the Chefs!

The Guest Chef!

The “Be Our Chef” Experience is $279 per person and is highly recommended to book in advance.

Palo Dining Room

As you can see, there are lots of great ways for adults to have a little of their own fun on board the Disney Fantasy! For more information, and to pre-book activities such as beverage tastings, spa treatments, and other special experiences (highly recommended), make sure you do so by calling a Disney Cruise Line agent or on the Disney Cruise Line website.
