Who else loves all things Pirates of the Caribbean?
Whether you love the movies, the ride in the Disney Parks, or both, there’s a new experience that’s coming soon to St. Vincent — the Caribbean island at which the early movies were filmed. Specifically, filming took place in Wallilabou, and you might get to check it out SOON via an all-new theme park experience.
The St. Vincent Times shared the plans for an all-new theme park destination that’s themed entirely to Pirates of the Caribbean!
The article stated, “Tourists and locals alike are expected to get a sense of the set used by Captain Jack Sparrow in the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean film, which was shot in Wallilabou, St Vincent, by 2025.”
Carlos James, St. Vincent’s Minister of Tourism, shared that this tourism offering is expected to provide a significant “boost” to the island, and building is set to begin later in 2024.
He said, “We are looking at scouting lands closest to the beach to accommodate the state-of-the-art theme park, which will include a restaurant, pool, and more. This year, we will also explore and conceptualise designs for a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed park at Wallilabou. It is important that we look at how we can further develop our tourism product offering. We have to ensure that we have all of the right services and sites that meet quality standards to ensure that people who come to the destination can really see the true benefit of our product.”
The design concept for the theme park will incorporate aspects from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and is set to include experiences like, “a state-of-the-art themed park, restaurant, a full-on area, a pool, and, naturally, beach access for persons coming by sea.”
