This is the news we’ve been waiting for: Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open on May 31 at Disneyland and on August 29 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida! The opening dates were revealed at today’s annual shareholders meeting of the Walt Disney Company.

The project is ahead of schedule, however, only one of the two attractions will be available when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge first opens. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will open first, while Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will follow later in the year.

Shops and restaurants will open during the first phase, allowing guests to sample some of the out-of-our-galaxy delicacies as well as explore some of the many immersive experiences in the new land.

At Disneyland park between May 31 and June 23, guests will be required to make a no-cost reservation to access Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Valid park admission is also required. Details on making the reservation are not yet available. During this time, guests who are staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels will receive a designated reservation to access Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge once during their stay.
No reservation will be required to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World, but valid admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios is required and capacity is limited. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be open during Extra Magic Hours.
However, Disney has stated that Disney FASTPASS service, including access via Disney MaxPass, (at Disneyland park) and Disney FastPass+ service (at Disney’s Hollywood Studios) will not be offered — at least not initially — at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Duly noted!
