We are getting ready for Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival to return on August 29 — less than a month to go! In preparation for this event we have thoroughly reviewed the booth menus and come up with a list of four items we can’t wait to enjoy again this year.
This was a hard task! We had to review the menus, look at pictures, share memories of flavors, and come up with just four items! We eventually did that, but had to add a few extras to the list. Read on to see our favorites!
We Can’t Wait to Enjoy These Four Epcot Food and Wine Festival Returning Items
Japan:Â Teriyaki Chicken Bun
This may sound and look very plain when you first read the description and see it in person at the booth, but we assure you, this is far from boring.
This steamed bao bun is filled with a mix of chicken and vegetables in a sweet teriyaki sauce. Basically, you get to enjoy a nice blend of meat and veggies along with the distinctive teriyaki flavor wrapped in a bao bun, which happens to be perfect for dining on the go. If we could figure out how to make these at home we would!
Flavors from Fire:Â The Steakhouse Blended Burger
This year, the Flavors from Fire booth is Hosted by ESPN’s College GameDay. To stick with the tailgate theme The Steakhouse Blended Burger is moving over to this booth from the Earth Eats booth.
What makes this so great? The slider is made with a perfect blend of beef and mushrooms and topped with brie cheese fondue, arugula, a truffle, and blue cheese potato chip! These elements are all balanced on a brioche bun. If you are fan of sliders, brie, or blue cheese this little slider packs all of your favorites in a small package. Now all we need to do is find a TV to cheer on our team on Saturdays (or Sundays if you’re an NFL fan). Go TEAM!
Wine and Dine Studio: Butternut Squash Ravioli
I personally did not think I liked butternut squash until last year’s Festival! These couple of bites of ravioli opened up a whole new culinary world to me!
This ravioli dish packs a bunch of flavor into those orange pasta pockets! You’ve got a butternut squash ravioli topped with a tangy brown butter vinaigrette, a couple of pieces of Parmesan cheese, and a few pumpkin seeds. Is it weird to ask for three orders of this at once to make a meal out of it?
Ireland: Warm Chocolate Pudding with Irish Cream Liqueur Custard
Do we really need to write anything else about this? Chocolate and Irish Cream together in one sweet dessert? Sign us up!
Look at this perfect-for-one sweet treat. The chocolate pudding is served warm and has an ooey-gooey center! Now, you take the perfect chocolate pudding and cover it in an Irish Cream Liqueur custard. Like they say, “life is short, eat dessert first.” We agree when handed a dessert like this!
OK, we couldn’t stop at just four items. We have four honorable mentions in various categories.
The Disney Classic Category
Refreshment Port: Dole Whip!
If you are overheated or looking for your daily pineapple fix, head to Refreshment Port!
You can choose to have a classic Dole Whip or go for a spiked Dole Whip by adding Bacardi Coconut Rum to your treat. Which way will you have your Dole Whip?
The Hit or Miss Category
Brazil: Moqueca
This was controversial for our team. Some of us tried this and loved it; some of us did not care for it at all. It was all dependent on if your scoop contained enough seafood.
This Brazilian Seafood Stew should have scallops, shrimp, and white fish in a coconut-lime sauce with steamed rice. Last year some of us liked this because we had the assortment of seafood, however some of us missed one or two of the seafood items — or all of them! Did you try this? Is it on your hit or miss list?
The You Can Skip the Restaurant Category
The Entire Canada Marketplace
We think we can safely say this is a festival classic and close to hands-down, 100 percent crowd-pleaser.
The Canada booth will be serving up its popular Canadian cheddar cheese and bacon soup served with a pretzel roll again. Plus, if you are looking for a famous Le Cellier steak you also get the Le Cellier wild mushroom beef filet mignon with truffle butter sauce at the Canada booth — no advanced dining reservations required!

TIE! The Alps and The Appleseed Orchard
We just can’t decide between the two booths debuting this year!
The Alps will be serving up warm Raclette Swiss cheese with Baby Potatoes, cornichons, and baguette, as well as venison stew with crushed potatoes, and a blueberry and almond frangipane tart. This sounds like an ideal three-course meal in one booth! Meanwhile, The Appleseed Orchard will serve a charcuterie and cheese plate featuring Burton’s Maplewood Farm Applejack Brandy Barrel Aged Maple Syrup! And, that isn’t all! We can get some caramel-apple popcorn at this booth — perfect for fall days wandering the park.
We are so hungry after all this food talk! Off to have a snack!
