See Mary Poppins Returns for a Limited Time at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre

The legendary El Capitan Theatre in the heart of Hollywood will be transformed into Cherry Tree Lane for a limited time to celebrate Mary Poppins Returns! Plus, the Theatre will be hosting a special showing of the film on December 18 — a day before the film’s release.

Emily Blunt is Mary Poppins in Disney’s original musical MARY POPPINS RETURNS, a sequel to the 1964 MARY POPPINS which takes audiences on an entirely new adventure with the practically perfect nanny and the Banks family.

From December 19 (the film’s release date) through January 13, 2019 Mary Poppins Returns will be shown at this special location. Purchase your tickets at the El Capitan website.

The Theatre will also have a display of costumes from the movie, interactive Cherry Tree Lane photo ops and debut their all-new El Capitan Theatre curtain show with a dazzling crystal curtain!

“We are thrilled to offer an unforgettable holiday experience for the whole family with our special engagement of Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns said Ed Collins, General Manager of The El Capitan Theatre. “Guests will be transported to the magical world of Cherry Tree Lane the moment they step into The El Capitan Theatre – it will be a you are there experience – and Guests can also view and admire costumes from the film before and after every screening.”

A special opportunity to see the film before its release is also being hosted by the Theatre. On Tuesday, December 18 at 7 p.m.  (doors will open at 6 p.m.) a Special Opening Night event will take place. Tickets to The Special Opening Night at $35 include a reserved seat, collectible umbrella popcorn container with one refill, 20-oz. bottled drink, a kite, and limited edition exclusive artwork poster, collectible gold heart variety charity pin and movie soundtrack download. Purchase your tickets at the El Capitan website.

Declared a Historic Cultural Monument by the City of Los Angeles and restored to showcase its original lavish architecture, The El Capitan Theatre has been since 1991 an exclusive first-run theatre, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, for The Walt Disney Studios. The Theatre also hosts live stage shows, world premieres, special events, and screenings of classic Disney films.
