This year’s D23 event is expected to be the BIGGEST one yet.
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event will take place in Anaheim, California from August 9th-11th, 2024. There will be plenty of panels, presentations, and more! Tickets went on sale on March 26th, 2024, and we were stoked to join the queue to grab our own. Except… things didn’t go as planned. Let’s talk about it!
We headed to the ticket sale page ahead of 12PM PT, when the tickets were set to go on sale. We were prepared and ready! When we entered the queue at 12 on the dot, it told us we were in line and we got an image of a lil’ dude walkin’ at the bottom of the screen as a visualization of where we were in line.
Except…we were in essentially the same spot nearly 45 minutes later. You’ll see at the bottom of this image that it says 12:43PM.
A few minutes later, we were given a notification on screen that stated that Disney was aware of the technical issue that a lot of folks were dealing with and that the sale would resume shortly.
As of 1:11PM PT, the issue had not been resolved. We were still in the queue and still had the yellow technical issue notification. Issues like this are unfortunately common with sales like these — when there is a high volume of people attempting to grab tickets or a slot in an event.
We didn’t give up, though, and around 1:20, our runnin’ guy was moving right along!
Just a few moments later, the yellow message updated to share that ticket sales were underway once more.
But then…the line paused again at around 1:35.
At around 2:17PM PT, we finally received the notification that we could enter the queue! But, before our screen even had the chance to refresh — we got another update that the line was paused. Disney shared an update that there were limited tickets available due to high demand.
Just a few minutes later, around 2:48 PT, the message on the website was again updated to advise that the Gold Member pre-sale was almost sold out and that the queue was paused. Only those who were currently checking out would be able to complete their transactions.
Disney also said that “quantities of most ticket types” would be available during the next pre-sale on Wednesday, March 27th at 12PM PT; however, keep in mind that this pre-sale is exclusive to D23 Members who are Visa cardholders and who pay with their Visa.

The 3 day pass had sold out when I finally got my chance. I was number 3337 in line. I did get the Friday and Saturday tickets that include the evening show. I wish you all luck!
