WDW & WDWIG UPDATES -
4th Annual Holiday Meet at WDW
This article appeared in the November 17, 1999, Issue #11 of ALL EARS® (ISSN: 1533-0753)
DISNEY FANS FROM AROUND THE WORLD PREPARE TO MEET at the 4th Annual RADP (rec.arts.disney.parks) Holiday Gathering! What started 4 years ago as 20 some folks who met online gathering at Epcot's Fountainview Cafe, has now turned into a week long event with all kinds of activities.
The huge Meet and Greet and Official Photo will be taken on Saturday December 4th at the TTC meeting place. Special Guests will be Jennifer Watson and Dave Marx, authors of Passporter WDW. Jennifer and Dave also kindly donated some Passporter WDW books for the Meet and Greet "Door Prizes".
We will have 5 boats watching IllumiNations 2000 on Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights! Events are also being held at attractions (Splash Mountain), shows (Fantasmic & Diamond Horseshoe Revue), restaurants (California Grill), Behind the Scenes Tours (Steam Trains) and much more. The only requirement for joining in on the fun is to be a Disney fan! Don't forget to bring your pins to trade at the meets!
We are once again expecting fans from around the world to participate from as far away as the United Kingdom and Japan. If you can't make this year's meet, the 2000 Meet will be taking place over the weekend of December 8, 9 and 10th.
CELEBRATION HOTEL - is now open! According to WDWIG reader Maryan "It's BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! " Breakfast will be served in the dining room. Prices for rooms begin at $135.
TARZAN ROCKS photos are also now online. Again, you get advanced notice for a sneak preview before Friday's update. Goto: http://allears.net/tp/ak/ak_tr.htm
JOURNEY INTO YOUR IMAGINATION - many of you have sent in comments and based on those, the majority of folks are not very happy with the new attraction. Seems Michael Eisner wasn't impressed either and has reported earmarked $5 million for a rehab at an undetermined date.
SPEAKING OF REHABS - Did you know that the Events Page on WDWIG also has attraction/show closings and rehab schedules? If so, then you would know that the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular at the Disney-MGM Studios is scheduled for rehab January 10 - June 17, 2000. No word yet on exactly what, if any changes, will take place. http://allears.net/pl/events.htm
