The announcement was made during the 2017 D23 Expo. No opening date was given, but the attraction will be open in time for Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary in 2021. |

Disney has shared that the ride will open in Summer 2022. |

There will be immersive NBA video productions and numerous interactive experiences and an exciting retail store that will offer something for all NBA fans worldwide.
