Hello,

My family dined at Tuskers House Restruant on March 14th. We had a pleasant experience with the hostess and all the staff except for the charter handler who was handling Daisy Duck at around 11:45 am when we're finally seated. Upon arrival to our table we needed a high chair that he (the cast member) was standing by rudely said it was not his job and I asked if I could take it to my table and again rudely said "ask your server" mind you our reservations we already late even though we checked in well before our reservation so our toddler was fussy if you can imagine. And we told him okay we can wait but you don't need to be rude. And the Entire time as he was "managing" Daisy he would have one of conversations saying something about our table. I obviously noticed because he was in eye sight across the room and when would chat with another cast member both would directly look at our table. His presence and demeanor made my family nervous the entire meal. Mind you this is my father's 77th birthday. And having to watch us being treat poorly was not part of the disney magic. Our server carol bless her was great but the handler for Daisy that morning/after broke our Disney magic. We have been big disney fans as our family but have never been treated or felt that way at disneyland, aulani, tokyo... no where. The food was okay much geared for adult tastes but our party at another table who had another great server help their picky eaters with some extra options. Also note with your reservation expect to wait addition 20 to 45 mins to be seated.

Pros:

Food for adults Servers/hostess

Cons:

Character handlers

So loud, so squished in at our table. yes, it was school vacation week, so they overbooked i guess. We had 2 reservations and they wouldn’t put us together. Characters did not dance around, when we saw them there was no room to get up for pictures. Environment is dark, ceilings low, loud and tables squished in.

Pros:

Server was good, seemed very busy. Food was good.

Cons:

Environment, accommodation, couldn’t see characters from out corner

We used to love this place when it was a buffet but everything has gone down hill since switching to family style. The beef was doused with a herb sauce that tasted like a just drank a bottle of perfume. The pork was cold and dry. Chicken was ok but was cold as well. Our service was horrible. I chalked it up to the waitress having a bad day, but my sister who was with us, said this has been the way it is ever since it reopened. She’s been there a few times. Characters were rushed by our table with little interaction. This used to be our go to for character dining. Not anymore. Everyone seemed like they were in a bad mood. It must be a reflection of new management.

Pros:

A/C in a hot park

Cons:

Price, Service, food, limited character interaction-

We ate here on our honeymoon in September of 2019. The food is ok...very reminiscent of a golden corral or Ponderosa. There are a few adventurous options but nothing totally wild or out there. Meeting the characters was pretty cool and the drinks were good - My spouse's was was very strong. This is a great place for people with kiddos who might try something new but mostly prefer chicken nugs or mac n cheese. I would only recommend this place if you absolutely must meet the characters in safari costumes or have pickier kiddos.

Pros:

Meeting characters, strong alcoholic drinks

Cons:

food was just meh.

We decided to give this place a try after hearing so many good reviews. Having small kids, character buffets are always a good bet, however, this was the absolute worst dining experience I’ve had in the past 27 years of going to Walt Disney World. We sat for over 20 minutes without drinks, our waitress was so short with us & rude, her entire section was being neglected & you could see her singing at the POS station staring at all of us. The food was so limited past what I even expected & the fish was the worst I’ve ever had. Children’s options are only macaroni & corn dog nuggets. The macaroni was empty on our first trip to the buffet & watered down the second. Once we sat down with our second plate the waitress came with the bill, ignored our empty drinks & instead opened it to show us where to put a tip walked off not to come back again. The characters are precious in their safari gear, but the interactions were cold & there are much better characters at similar dining experiences with way better food. At over $200 for our family of 4 it left a terrible taste in my mouth & just genuinely made us sad we’d given up our beloved night at yak & yeti for such a bad time.

Pros:

Cute characters Dining is limited in AK

Cons:

Limited menu Long wait Poor service

For many years this has been a family favorite--we love the unique offerings and have always enjoyed the characters in their safari outfits. My boys are a little older (12 & 14) but wanted to go back because of the great memories. It was unfortunately hugely disappointing. The food selection was not what we remembered. The carving station had only salmon and pork. Mashed potatoes were out in both kid buffet station and adult buffet station, and some of the more interesting options (African stew) were replaced with poorly cooked root vegetables that were inedible. Desserts were ok, nothing amazing. Wait staff was slow to refill beverages. We did see all the characters and that was fun, but it felt more rushed (maybe because our boys are older and they all spend more time with the littler kids). The real downfall was the bill. I could not believe how expensive it was. With tip, for lunch, over $270 for four adults. Few meals are worth that kind of expense, and this sure wasn't one of them. We were all really disappointed walking out feeling like we'd had an average meal at an exorbitant price.

Pros:

atmosphere, characters

Cons:

Price! Variety and quality of food has also gone down over the years.

I'm so sad to give this a low score, but we had a terrible experience here. The server rushed as in and out so quickly, characters came to our table while we were up at the buffet, and it wasn't worth the price tag.

Pros:

Good food, characters

Cons:

Rushed in and out, pricey

Tried Tusker House for the first time as part of the Rivers of Light seating package. I wanted to love my experience but unfortunately I just did not. I had read other reviews stating that there were choices for picky eaters given the international flair of Tusker House’s food options, but found that was not the case for some of my family members who ended up eating mashed potatoes and mac and cheese from the children’s buffet. I consider myself to be more of an adventurous eater who can handle spice, but many of the dishes I selected were on the overly spicy side. While I did not ‘hate’ this dining experience, there are many other dining choices I would make first before eating here again.

Pros:

Quick to get in and out, nice character interactions, helpful staff members

Cons:

Many spicy dishes, odd location of plates underneath serving lines

My wife and I have stayed at Walt Disney resorts over 40 times. We have eaten at many restaurants both in the parks and at the resorts. Unfortunately this experience was one of the worst food experiences I’ve ever had at Disney. The chicken and pork or both extremely tough and chewy. The selection of gluten free options for my wife were limited at best. I felt the selection for a high dollar buffet was one of the poorest I’ve ever experienced at a Disney buffet. Even the desert choices were definitely not up to Disney standards.
While I know and appreciate this was a character dinner, the amount of incessantly crying babies was beyond even the normal for a Disney buffet. The parents in our dining room were happy just to let their children scream in their chair while they continued eating.
One positive note, the Merlot wine from South Africa was an excellent choice I would highly recommend It.

Pros:

Had a great waiter and excellent wine choice

Cons:

Food was not up to par and extremely noisy
