The best part of photopass is everyone gets into the picture. No more asking other people to take your family picture. On our 8 day trip we had over 200 photos. Yes some weren’t the best, but the magic shots were always a surprise when checking the my Disney experience app.

Pros:

Ride photos are included

Cons:

Nothing

Most of my pictures turned out great. I love during the meet and greet when they capture the spontaneous moments but that could be tricky!

Pros:

If you are lucky to have a photografer who can work as a team with the character, great! They usually know the best poses, angles and when to click the button. If you really are into meeting characters, I highly suggest for you get that.

Cons:

Things can go really wrong with some sloppy photografers. Maybe they are new at the job or just not having it on that day, but I've seen some crap pictures from "professional photografers".

You should absolutely get the pass

Pros:

Since we can only afford to go to Disney every few years, I splurge on the photo pass so that we can ALL be in each and every photo. I love that we can take photos in front of our favorite attractions, with our favorite characters, or on the rides themselves and the cast member simply scans your magic ban and your off!

Photopass is very convenient. You get really great shots all over the place. There are often Photopass photographers available that most people don't know exists. I think Disney has done a great job having so many options for Photopass photographers that are very under utilized.

All the character spots are lite up so well and camera phones are so good now that you can probably get similar pictures of those with you phone as with the Photopass photographer, but some do have some "magic" shots you cannot get with your phone. The non-character Photopass photographer spots are you would be hard pressed to get as good a photo they do.

You can also get all the ride photos on Photopass. They even have great Photopass photographers at the waterparks.

The website lets you do cool editing of the photos.

Pros:

Great tool, can get unique photos, hassle free, free to have photos stored until you want to buy them

Cons:

If you are not familiar with what to do, Photopass can often be overlooked and under utilized. Some of what Photopass offers you could do yourself.

I love this program and use it for every Disney trip. It is a nice and convenient way for me to get all of my daughters character meet and greet photos while still being involved in the moment. I don't have to worry about capturing the photo because the photographer is doing it for me. At the end, they scan my MagicBand and I have all the photos. It is a little pricey, but worth it when you consider that there are photographers with every character and around each park.

Pros:

Capturing the memories

Cons:

Price

We’ve done PhotoPass twice and I don’t think I would do Disney again without it! I love that the whole family is in the picture, including me! There are photographers all over the parks. You get a wide variety of shots. Also, you get fantastic “magic” shots with special effects and you will receive fun videos on your MDE account.

Pros:

Magic shots Fun videos Everyone in the photos

Cons:

Can be expensive, especially if you purchase a photo book through Disney

We overal love using photopass! However, our last 2 trips we have had several photos that are out of focus, overexposed and quite literally have members of our party’s heads missing. It’s kind of hit and miss with the quality which is disappointing because it’s a paid service.

Pros:

No having to worry about capturing the whole family in one photo or having to ask a stranger to snap a photo for you

Cons:

Lines can get long and photo quality is spotty
